The adventure begins in the heart of Tromsø, where the MV Quest is ready to welcome you on board. After stepping onto the vessel, you settle into your private ocean-view cabin and meet the expedition team who will be with you throughout the journey. As the ship leaves the harbour, Tromsø slowly slips into the distance. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and relaxed. A three-course dinner is served on board, while the panorama lounge offers a cosy place to unwind. Your guide introduces you to the stories, science, and mystery of the Northern Lights, preparing you for what may appear above. Then it is time to step outside. Wrapped in the silence of the Arctic night, you can stand on deck and look up into the open sky, waiting for the Aurora to reveal itself above the fjords. And if the lights begin to dance while you are asleep, we will wake you, so you do not miss one of nature’s most unforgettable displays.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring suitcases on board?

Yes. However, we recommend bringing only what is needed for the 24 hours you will spend on board. Larger suitcases or bags can be stores safely at the booking point.

When are we coming back after the trip?

Return time is approximately at 18:30 the following day.

Can we see the whales if it is dark?

It is harder to see the whales when it’s dark, but during the morning hours, we will have what is called “civil twilight” which makes it possible to see the whales.
